The book will be separated into three sections: stories about the family I've cobbled together through the internet, interactions with the producers that created the television shows I love, and stories about the fandom in which I participate, itself a sort of Petri dish of sociological disarray. The common thread running throughout is internet communication as a way of developing relationships with people I'd otherwise never meet in my everyday (offline) interactions. |

WILL THE VAMPIRE PEOPLE PLEASE LEAVE THE LOBBY? is a book about my experiences in internet communities, specifically, the communities, or fandoms, dedicated to cult television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. Similar in style to David Sedaris' work about his family, this is about my family whom I rarely see face-to-face and communicate with through a glowing box plugged into the wall.
